Resume-Matcher: Tailoring Your Resume to Job Postings

Translated

If you find it a hassle to submit a different resume for each job posting, this tool lets you customize the resume you've already uploaded to match each job listing.

3-Line Summary

1) It’s a tool that helps you tailor your uploaded resume to specific job postings. 2) You run it with a single Docker command and use it in your browser. 3) It’s useful when you need to submit different resumes for different job postings, and the README example screen displays seven customized resumes.

How to Use It

1) Install Docker (a tool that lets you run software as a package without installing it) and run the following command. docker run --name resume-matcher -p 3000:3000 -v resume-data:/app/backend/data ghcr.io/srbhr/resume-matcher:latest This command downloads Resume Matcher and runs it on your computer. 2) Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser, select an AI provider in the Settings menu, and upload your resume (PDF or DOCX). 3) Paste the job posting, review the changes, and export it as a PDF. Cloud models like OpenAI require an API key and are billed based on usage. Ollama, which runs on your computer, is free.

GitHub Issue #410 · 3 reactions · srbhr · July 2025 "(Previous comment: Resumes aren't sensitive enough to warrant using a local model.) That was the goal. The idea was to keep personal information private. However, I think an online model would be more helpful for most users." Points to Note

Since your resume includes your name and contact information, if you select the cloud model, that information will be sent to the AI service. If you're concerned, use Ollama. The "Heavy Rewrite" mode includes a warning that the AI may generate content that is not factual. Be sure to review the revised sentences yourself.
